We got all the documents translated Friday night and it contained more pages of information that I had imagined. The biography was hard to read as it first described the street and clothing she was wearing when found. She was wrapped in a white quilt and found by a man who has her first name "Guo". Must be how she got it.
I'll be taking the documents and photos to the dr tomorrow am. I am anxious to see what he will say. There is a potential medical issue and hopefully it is nothing of concern.

ReplyDeleteMy daughter's name (given to her by the SWI staff) was Guo Guo (rhymes with "whoa!"). We had several Chinese nationals tell us that Guo Guo wasn't a name (or specifically, wasn't a child's name) but that's the name they gave her and it's now her middle name (written as Guoguo). She's now in a mandarin immersion school and I was given the choice of changing her name or keeping Guo Guo -- we decided together to keep it and now she is called Guo Guo on a daily basis. I think it's a darling name (now) and she's very proud of it. BTW, our "Guo" means "fruit" and because it's doubled, her name means "precious fruit" (as in something that is highly desired and greatly savored -- just like her!).

In Josie Guo Ling's Bio we got it says she was found by the assistant director of the adoption agency in Wu Wei and his name has Guo in it. So, I am assuming they named her after him? My question is: are there lots of kids in that orphanage with that name because the asst. director is the one that gets the call to "find" the abandoned babies?
